Location: Edinburgh Castle Officers Mess, Castle Hill, Edinburgh, EH1 2YT Pay rate: £12.71 per hour (£23,211.38) Hours: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (some weekends) Shift times: 0700 – 2230

About the Role

Aramark UK is currently recruiting for a General Assistant in their Defence sector to work at Edinburgh Castle as part of their integral team.

As a General Assistant, you will primarily work front-of-house, supporting day-to-day operations through serving food and beverages, till operations, cleaning dining areas, and assisting both front and back-of-house teams. You will provide excellent customer service and report to the Unit Manager on site.

Key duties include:

  • Serving food and beverages to customers
  • Adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
  • Operating the till and processing transactions
  • Supporting in table service and bar areas

Requirements

✔ Age: Must be 18+ ✔ Right to work: Eligible to work in the UK with over 3 years’ residency ✔ Security clearance: Security checks are a mandatory requirement for this role ✔ Transport: Reliable transport is essential due to location accessibility
