  • Hours of Work: 16 per week
  • Shift Pattern:
    • Monday: 12:15 – 16:15
    • Thursday: 10:00 – 14:00
    • Friday: 07:00 – 11:00
    • Saturday: 14:15 – 18:15
  • Salary: £12.71 per hour

About the Role

As a General Assistant at Hobbycraft, you will support the Store Management Team to deliver all aspects of store operations, initiatives, and performance. By delivering an inviting, inspiring, and truly customer-focused experience, you will contribute to Hobbycraft’s ongoing success. You’ll embody our brand values in every task you undertake.

Areas of Responsibility

Supporting the team to deliver outstanding performance, your role includes:

  • Brand Ambassador: Passionate about Hobbycraft, driving positive change.
  • Teamwork: Build respectful relationships and uphold Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging policies.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service, showcasing excellent communication.
  • Adaptability: Embrace change positively and proactively.
  • Policies & Procedures: Comply with all company standards and Health & Safety regulations.

Daily Tasks:

  • Maintain clean, organised stock displays.
  • Assist with displays and seasonal stock changes.
  • Operate cash handling including till duties and transaction accuracy.
  • Support Click & Collect processes.
  • Stock management and control to prevent loss.
  • Assist in hosting craft workshops when required.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Desirable: Retail or comparable experience.
  • Essential: Strong customer service mindset.
  • Must-have: Enthusiasm for craft and art.

Key Skills:

  • Cash handling experience.
  • Ability to follow policies and guidelines.
  • Precision and high standards under pressure.
  • Adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Self-motivation and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work confidently independently or as part of a crew.
