General Building Operative

HMP Lindholme, Doncaster (DN7 6EE)

Salary: £28,792 + 15% weekend allowance

Hours: 39 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday: 07:45 – 16:45
  • Saturday to Sunday: 07:45 - 15:15
  • 1 in 3 weekends (paid at +15%)
  • On-call rota included

The role

  • Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs across site
  • Support tradespeople with day-to-day tasks
  • DIY work such as decorating, furniture building and repairs
  • Escort contractors when required
  • Keep areas safe, tidy and well maintained

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on experience in general maintenance or DIY
  • NVQ trade qualification or CITB (or similar)
  • Reliable, team player with a good work ethic
  • Willing to learn and pick up new skills

Prison Security clearance and Standard DBS required – full support provided by Amey.
