Civil General Operative
Location: Hunterston A Power Station
Contract: Permanent | Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday – Thursday | No Fridays

About the Role
As a Civil General Operative, you will support a contract team in the provision of a high-quality general maintenance service, ensuring the upkeep of designated areas by carrying out general and specific duties as directed in line with the agreed contract specification.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs to a designated building, its fabric, fixtures, and fittings as requested by the customer and/or Mitie contract management team; maintaining internal and external premises and surroundings.
- Liaise with the Mitie contract management team on the day-to-day running of the building, including reporting issues relating to operation and appearance.
- Conduct routine checks on plant and equipment to ensure optimum conditions are achieved.
- Ensure entrance and exit points are clean and tidy.
- Assist in the packing and removal of equipment and furniture from site.
- Perform painting and decorating as agreed and directed by management.
- Help the civil team with ad hoc maintenance.
- Accountable for communicating the status of work to both the customer and Mitie contract management team.
- Maintain high standards of personal performance, hygiene, appearance, and attitude at all times.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management.

Requirements
The following traits and skills would be deemed desirable:
- Previous experience as a multi-skilled civil operative in a customer-facing environment.
- Physical fitness and dexterity for manual handling accountabilities.
- Experience and skills in grounds works/maintenance and working at height.
- Ability to work in a demanding and busy area.
- Proficiency in basic computer use.
- Basic knowledge of ground works.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Friendly and approachable manner, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Sets and maintains high standards of delivery.
Necessary Qualifications and Certifications:
- CSCS card (required)
- IPAF certification (required)
Security & Site Environment
This role is based within a nuclear restoration site:
- You must be willing to work in controlled areas.
- Baseline Personal Security clearance required – fully supported by Amey.
