Restaurant Team Member (Front & Back of House) – Hinkley & Sedgemoor Campuses

Role Overview
Full-Time (39 hours/week) Salary: £14.57 per hour Location: Hinkley & Sedgemoor Campuses Contract: Permanent
This multi-faceted role covers front-of-house and back-of-house operations across serveries, delis, hospitality provisions, coffee shops, bars, and functions—delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining high hygiene and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Front of House
- Greet and assist customers with food, drink, and dietary queries (including allergens).
- Process payments via card/cash, offer guidance on menus, snacks, and specials.
- Resolve direct customer concerns (or escalate to supervisors).
** Foodsaving & HACCP**
- Handle food as per Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS) standards.
- Conduct food safety/auditor checks, stock inspections, and record-keeping.
- Assist with HACCP team members as required.

Operational & Logistics
- Receive and check supplier deliveries, account for inventory, and store supplies securely.
- Stock restocking, tags pricing, and adhere to waste management protocols.
- Manage waste removal, ensure allergens are controlled.
- Daily hygiene checks (equipment, crockery, surfaces, utensils).
Additional Duties
- Assist with events functions, catering orders, and hands-on cooking preparation.
- Train & apprenticeships—help grow future talent in our team.
- Support the Zero Harm culture (health & safety adherence).
- Volunteer for Collaborative or cross-site operations as needed.

Optional (Desirable) Skills Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence with 12+ months experience & ≤6 penalty points.
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certification.
- Level 2 Health & Safety masterclass.
