General Farm Worker (Livestock Assistant)

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Livestock Assistant to support our livestock operations during a period of transition. This role will initially focus on supporting the phased exit of the sheep enterprise, before transitioning into a core role within our cattle operation (Lincs Cattle). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a changing environment and is keen to develop their skills across different livestock systems. Flexibility, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to learn new husbandry approaches will be essential. Sheep Enterprise (Initial Focus) Support the day-to-day management and welfare of the sheep flock during the wind-down period Assist with handling, movement, and health treatments Maintain high welfare and biosecurity standards throughout the exit phase Work alongside the wider team to ensure a smooth and efficient transition out of sheep production Transition to Cattle (Future Focus) Progress into supporting cattle husbandry operations as the business focus shifts Assist with feeding, health checks, handling, and general care of cattle Develop knowledge of cattle systems, welfare standards, and performance monitoring Contribute to the ongoing success and development of the Lincs Cattle enterprise Skills & Experience Operate machinery and equipment safely (training provided where required) Maintain accurate records of livestock and farm activities Ensure high standards of health & safety are always followed Work collaboratively within the wider farming team Support other farm activities as required, demonstrating flexibility across the business What We’re Looking For Practical livestock experience (sheep, cattle, or mixed farming preferred) A flexible and agile approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities Positive attitude towards learning new systems and developing skills Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions Good awareness of animal welfare standards Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 24 days holiday plus bank holidays Life assurance; Pension scheme; Charitable Giving via payroll (Give as You Earn); Cycle to work scheme; Free annual flu jab; Free eye test; Employee Assistant Programme; Access to product discounts; Organised social events; Free parking.
