Experienced General Foremen – Water Team (South West)
Location: South West
We are seeking qualified General Foremen to join our Water team, where you’ll drive major infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the region.
This key site leadership role involves managing water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, and associated infrastructure. Reporting closely to Project Managers, Engineers, and supply chain partners, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality while maintaining environmental standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership:
- Lead and coordinate daily site operations, ensuring adherence to safety, efficiency, and programme timelines.
- Team & Compliance Management:
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers while enforcing health, safety, environmental, and quality protocols.
- Health & Safety Oversight:
- Oversee Permit to Work systems, inductions, briefings, as well as temporary works interfaces and site security.
- Risk Mitigation & Progress Tracking:
- Monitor progress, identify risks and constraints, and collaborate with project teams to implement solutions that sustain on-time delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with clients, operational stakeholders, and supply chain partners to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced construction professional with a proven track record in:
- Civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities projects.
- Managing complex construction teams in a site-based environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven leadership in executing major contractor projects (water/environmental sectors preferred but not mandatory).
- Core knowledge of construction methodologies, health and safety legislation, and environmental management.
- Hands-on experience in team management, subcontractor coordination, and driving operational efficiency.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills for collaboration with project teams, clients, and supply chain partners.
- SMSTS certification
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Full UK driving licence
Avantageous but not essential: Experience within water infrastructure frameworks (e.g. AMPs).
