Associate – Investment Banking (Industrials) (London, United Kingdom)
About the Role
Jefferies is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its London-based Industrials Investment Banking team. Ideal candidates will support and lead the execution of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions for leading industrial companies and financial sponsors across EMEA.
The role involves client exposure, responsibility, and collaboration with senior bankers in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Successful candidates will work on high-profile transactions, including:
- M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions)
- Equity Capital Markets (ECM)
- Debt Financing
- Strategic Advisory
This position is designed for ambitious professionals aiming to develop advanced technical and client-facing skills within the Industrials sector—a core coverage group covering aerospace & defence, transportation, business services, capital goods, engineering, industrial technology, and infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
- Support and lead execution of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates.
- Manage multiple workstreams across live transactions and client engagements.
- Coordinate due diligence processes, data rooms, and transaction documentation.
- Prepare and review:
- Marketing materials
- Management presentations
- Information memoranda
- Board materials
- Liaise with clients, legal advisors, accountants, lenders, and external parties.

Financial Analysis & Valuation
- Build and review complex financial models, including:
- Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
- Trading Comparables & Transaction Comparables
- LBO (Leveraged Buyout) Analysis
- Merger Models
- Conduct detailed financial, strategic, and industry analysis.
- Develop valuation materials and transaction recommendations for clients.
Client Development
- Support senior bankers in preparing client pitches and tactical presentations.
- Provide market intelligence, sector insights, and company-specific analysis.
- Build and maintain strong client and adviser relationships.
Leadership & Team Management
- Oversee and mentor Analysts on financial modelling, valuation, and presentation prep.
- Review work products for accuracy and quality.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Requirements
Essential
✔ Bachelor’s degree (strong academic record). ✔ 3–6 years of relevant investment banking experience. ✔ Demonstrated experience in M&A and capital markets transactions. ✔ Proficiency in financial modelling, accounting, and valuation. ✔ Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. ✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills. ✔ Advanced Excel/PowerPoint expertise required.

Preferred
✔ Previous industrials sector experience. ✔ Experience advising corporate & private equity clients. ✔ Cross-border transactions in EMEA or globally. ✔ Professional certifications (e.g., ACA, CFA).
