Summary of vacancy
We are recruiting a General Maintenance Operative in West London to carry out a range of maintenance tasks and ensure our facilities remain safe, clean, and well-presented.
About The Role
Location: Brentford, West London
Salary: £14.19 per hour after probation, salary will go to £14.69
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday
Start times: 07:00 am - 16:30 pm
Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Full PPE provided

About the role:
Typical Tasks Include, But Not Limited To:
- Mobile Plant works – Replacing blades, wipers, etc
- Dealing with all compactor issues and raising issues when they arise
- Site facilities works – Drilling, signage/netting, plumbing, brickwork, doors/handles, locks, barriers, cladding and steelworks.
- Stores / stock audits
- Workshop 5s audits
- General DIY
- Ad hoc works
- Organising and planning of maintenance works
- Communication to contractors to plan in works
- Organising and managing maintenance related statutory inspections
- Conducting weekly fire system tests (Training provided)
- Completing Preventative Maintenance tasks at the required frequency
- Container repairs - Greasing of doors and welding repairs when required

Essential:
- Your experience and background:
- Mechanical Knowledge/Experience
- General DIY – Building works, Plumbing, woodwork, Metal fabrication
- Good with Hand tools & power tools – drills, grinders, jigsaw
- Safety Conscious
- Welding experience
- Adept at using computer systems
- Experience issuing and overseeing Permit to work operations.
Desirable:
- Formal Qualifications – NVQ in Mechanical works/fitting/Joinery
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Experience on a large site
