General Manager
General Manager – Matara (Rubix MCA Division)

Role Purpose
To lead and develop Matara as a profit-driven, growth-oriented business within the Rubix MCA Division.
The General Manager will provide strong commercial and operational leadership, driving:
- Strategic sales growth
- Supplier development
- Organisational capability
to achieve sustained revenue and margin improvement.
The position demands a hands-on approach, working closely with a small, high-performing team, and fostering collaboration with Rubix group businesses to identify synergies, shared opportunities, and cross-divisional growth.
Key Responsibilities & Main Tasks
Leadership & Management
- Coordinate, motivate, and develop a close-knit team to deliver:
- Performance excellence
- Accountability
- A culture of continuous improvement
- Establish and lead effective management meetings, ensuring:
- Priority alignment
- Cross-departmental communication
- Provide clear leadership by:
- Setting performance goals
- Evaluating team performance
- Supporting HR processes, including:
- Recruitment
- Development & succession planning
- Foster a collaborative environment with MCA and Group companies to:
- Leverage shared resources
- Implement best practices

- Develop and implement Matara’s strategic plan, aligned with MCA and Group objectives, to ensure:
- Sustainable growth
- Profitability
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities via:
- Structured sales strategy
- Proactive key-account engagement
- Lead efforts to expand Matara’s product & solution portfolio, including:
- Onboarding new suppliers in:
- Automation
- Motion control
- Complementary technologies
- Onboarding new suppliers in:
- Evaluate partnership opportunities with Rubix Group businesses to create:
- Integrated offerings
- Shared commercial benefit
Commercial & Financial Accountability
- Oversee all business operations to ensure:
- Operational efficiency
- Long-term financial stability
- Collaborate with finance to:
- Set budgets
- Track performance
- Enhance commercial understanding across the team
- Monitor key financial & operational KPIs, ensuring compliance with:
- Group reporting requirements
- Drive margin improvement initiatives through:
- Cost control
- Supplier negotiations
- Pricing discipline
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute a growth-focused sales strategy to increase market share in:
- Key customer segments
- Support the sales team in:
- Identifying target accounts
- Developing value propositions
- Closing opportunities
- Promote use of:

- Digital marketing
- E-commerce platforms
- Represent Matara at:
- Key customer meetings
- Supplier engagements
