About Us
The Villa Wrea Green is a beautiful 19th-century country house hotel set in the Lancashire countryside, offering 50 bedrooms, exceptional dining, weddings, and events. With a focus on warm, personalised hospitality, we pride ourselves on delivering memorable guest experiences in a unique and characterful setting.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to take full operational responsibility for The Villa Wrea Green.
In this role, you’ll lead all departments across the hotel, driving exceptional guest experiences while delivering strong commercial performance across rooms, food & beverage, and events. You’ll be a visible and hands-on leader, ensuring the hotel maintains its reputation as a leading countryside destination and wedding venue.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the Operation
- Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations including rooms, reception, restaurant, bar, weddings, events, and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety, food safety, and licensing regulations
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and upkeep across the hotel and grounds
Delivering Outstanding Guest Experiences
- Create a culture of warm, personalised service that drives repeat business
- Monitor guest feedback and reviews, implementing improvements to enhance reputation
- Act as a visible host, especially during weddings, events, and peak service periods

Driving Commercial Performance
- Own and manage budgets, forecasts, and monthly P&L performance
- Drive revenue across rooms, F&B, and events through pricing, upselling, and package development
- Control payroll and costs while maintaining service excellence
Sales, Marketing & Reputation
- Support marketing strategy across digital platforms, social media, and online travel agents
- Build relationships with local businesses and partners to drive sales and visibility
- Position The Villa as a leading hotel and wedding venue in the region
Leading and Developing Your Team
- Recruit, lead, and develop Heads of Department across all functions
- Create a positive, inclusive culture focused on performance and progression
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support team development
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with employment law, health & safety, and company policies
- Lead audits and maintain accurate operational records
- Protect hotel assets including people, property, and stock

What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager or senior Deputy in a quality hotel environment
- Strong background in weddings, events, and food & beverage operations
- Track record of delivering revenue growth and profit targets
- Experience managing multi-department teams within hospitality
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Deep understanding of guest service standards within a high-quality hospitality setting
- Knowledge of UK hospitality regulations and compliance requirements
- Comfortable using hotel systems and interpreting performance data

What We Offer
- Salary: £60,000 per annum
