General Manager – Nissan & Kia Dealership
Location: Gloucester Business: Wessex Garages
About Wessex Garages
Wessex Garages is a highly successful and stable business known for its customer-focused approach and outstanding brand performance. We’re seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead our Nissan and Kia site in Gloucester.
This pivotal role involves:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations
- Taking full responsibility for financial performance
- Providing effective leadership
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of automotive retail professionals across:
- Sales
- Aftersales
- Parts
- Ensure all departments are adequately staffed
- Foster a high-performance culture by:
- Recognising and rewarding exceptional achievements
- Effectively addressing underperformance
Financial Planning & Performance
- Establish annual financial and growth objectives for each department
- Develop strategies to meet:
- Profit targets
- Product targets
- Prepare accurate dealership reporting and forecasting aligned with group frameworks
- Oversee marketing strategies in accordance with manufacturer guidelines to support business objectives
- Drive outstanding customer satisfaction across Sales, Aftersales, and Parts
- Coach leadership teams to spearhead consistent excellence

- Regulatory standards

Required Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:
Core Requirements
- Prior experience as a General Manager in the motor trade
- Strong understanding of managing accountable business units

- Strong leadership abilities to inspire and coach a diverse team
- Unwavering professionalism and composure in high-pressure environments
- Exceptional stakeholder management for internal/external relationships
Technical Proficiencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to:

- Formulate data-driven solutions
