General Manager. Embed Culture. Restore Performance.
The Next Chapter in Leadership
Some General Manager appointments are about maintaining momentum.
This one is about creating it. We're partnering on the appointment of a General Manager for an established hospitality business that has strong foundations, significant potential and a clear need for visible, hands-on leadership.
The business is looking for a leader who can re-energise the operation, rebuild engagement across the team and create a culture where accountability, standards and guest experience thrive. This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys being at the heart of the operation, leading from the front and making a visible impact every day.
The Opportunity
Reporting into ownership, the General Manager will take full responsibility for the overall performance of the business, leading a team of approximately 20 employees across all operational areas.
The focus will be on strengthening guest experience, improving commercial performance, developing people and creating a culture built around high standards and consistency. This is not a role for someone who prefers to manage from behind a desk.
The successful individual will be highly visible throughout the operation, comfortable working evenings and weekends when required and passionate about creating an environment where both guests and teams feel valued.
The Environment
The business operates within a fast-paced hospitality environment with a loyal customer base and strong local reputation. While there is significant opportunity ahead, the incoming General Manager will inherit a team that has experienced a period of under-leadership and will need clear direction, consistency and renewed energy. This role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to make meaningful changes that will directly influence both team culture and commercial performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Increase team engagement and morale
- Create a culture of accountability and ownership
- Stabilise the team and reduce turnover
- Deliver sustainable commercial performance across the business
What Success Looks Like

- Most importantly, the General Manager is recognised as a visible leader who has rebuilt confidence, created momentum and established a culture people want to be part of.
