General Manager
Project Eighty Three | Newquay, Cornwall
Salary: From £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Full-time | Permanent
Help lead one of Cornwall's most unique hospitality venues.
Project Eighty Three is more than a bar. We're an award-winning independent venue built inside a former garage, combining coffee, breakfast, bar, street food, live music, motorcycle culture and community events under one roof. Every week is different, from busy breakfast services and bike nights to live bands, farmers markets and community events.
We're looking for an ambitious General Manager to become the Directors' second-in-command and help lead the next stage of our growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example and building an exceptional team and customer experience.
About the role
As General Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring every customer receives outstanding service while maintaining high standards across all areas of the business.
You'll work closely with the Directors to develop the business, improve performance and help shape the future of Project Eighty Three.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
