Area Manager – Multi-Channel Retail Fulfilment Operations

Every product sold to customers—through home delivery, click-and-collect, or store pick-up—travels through one of our distribution hubs. As a central part of the Sainsbury’s & Argos multi-channel retail network, these hubs support a vast logistics and fulfilment operation—and they represent a pivotal, high-impact leadership opportunity.

About the Role

You will lead a high-performance team, embedding our customer-centric values across store and hub operations. With a construction mindset and strong leadership, you will:

  • Inspire teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and commercial success in an evolving retail environment.
  • Reporting to the Area Manager, ensure KPIs are met while maintaining high operational and service standards.
  • Balancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency to fulfil diunderscored Sainsbury’s and Argos promise—from store to home.

Your Responsibilities

  • Establish a clear vision for your team, driving growth and empowering individuals to reach their potential.
  • Foster an environment where customer-first thinking drives decision-making and company culture.
  • Lead through change at a pace, keeping teams motivated, engaged, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure process excellence, from store operations to delivery logistics, while adapting to shifting retail demands.
  • Develop team members’ skills, promoting professional development in a way that enhances leadership and performance.
