What you will be doing
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for growing the potential in each one of your team members, giving them the tools and support they need to thrive. And you’ll ensure the smooth and efficient running of your whole site, with a big picture view on continuous improvement.

About you
We don’t believe in shutting doors on potential, so we don’t ask over the odds for qualifications or experience. We can teach you everything you need to know. What we can’t teach is:
- A personable, individual leadership approach
- The need to challenge yourself
- Excellent communication
- Continuous drive to be better and encourage others to do the same
- A strong understanding of maintenance planning, asset reliability, and operational performance
Experience working in similar industries such as recycling, quarrying, aggregates, manufacturing, waste management, ports or other heavy engineering environments is desirable.
If you have these qualities, you’re already well on your way to being an incredible General Manager. We’ll happily fill in the gaps by developing your knowledge, skills and expertise on the job. You don’t have to know a single thing about the metal recycling industry – just the enthusiasm to learn. And we won’t stop training you once you’ve reached peak Manager status, because when you work for a global leader in sustainable materials, there is no limit to your career progression.

At EMR, we give new life to unwanted materials. Every year, we recycle 10 million tonnes of metals and plastics, saving 19 million tonnes of carbon from entering the Earth’s atmosphere, diverting waste from landfill and protecting resources and habitats.
