General Manager - Redditch Golf Club - Redditch, Worcestershire
Salary: Competitive depending on experience plus bonus, golf membership, annual membership fee to The Golf Club Managers’ Association.
Full time – 40 hours – Monday to Friday, occasional evenings and weekends as required.
We are working with Redditch Golf Club to find their next General Manager.
About Redditch Golf Club
Founded in 1913, Redditch Golf Club is a thriving private members' club with a proud heritage and an exciting future. Situated just minutes from the M42, their Frank Pennink-designed course is widely regarded as one of the finest in Worcestershire, combining outstanding playing surfaces with an excellent reputation for hospitality and member experience. The club has continued to invest significantly in its facilities, including refurbishment of the clubhouse, professional shop and patio areas, alongside continued investment in course presentation and infrastructure.
With a loyal membership, an excellent reputation across the Midlands and ambitious plans for continued growth, they are now seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead the next chapter of the Club's development.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Committee, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across every aspect of the Club.
This is a genuine leadership position with responsibility for delivering an outstanding member and visitor experience whilst ensuring the Club continues to grow commercially and remains financially strong.
Working closely with an experienced management team, you will help shape the future direction of the Club, balancing tradition with innovation and ensuring Redditch Golf Club continues to thrive for many years to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Club
- Inspire, develop and support a high-performing management team
- Deliver excellent experiences for members, guests, visitors and societies
- Drive commercial growth across membership, golf, hospitality and events
- Work closely with the Committee to develop and deliver the Club's strategic objectives
- Take ownership of financial performance, budgeting and business planning
- Ensure the Club continues to operate to the highest standards of governance, compliance and member service
- Build strong relationships with members, staff, England Golf, suppliers and the wider community
- Champion continuous improvement across the Club's facilities, operations and services

About You
We're looking for an engaging and commercially minded leader who enjoys building relationships and creating high-performing teams.
You may already be a General Manager within golf, hospitality, leisure or a private members' organisation, or you could be an experienced operational leader looking for the opportunity to lead your own business.
You will ideally bring:
- Proven leadership experience with responsibility for people, operations and commercial performance
- Strong financial and business planning capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience of leading teams through change and continuous improvement
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer or member experiences
- The confidence to work collaboratively with a Board or Committee
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
Previous golf industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential. We are equally interested in exceptional leaders from hospitality, leisure, member organisations or customer-focused businesses who can demonstrate transferable experience.
