General Manager - Live In (Salary: Up to £50K)
About the Role
We’re seeking an excited and entrepreneurial General Manager for Chequers, located in the charming village of Walton on the Hill. This charming pub blends traditional and modern elements, offering a warm, inclusive atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.
- A front-of-house area with cosy nooks, spacious seating, and direct access to a well-laid-out bar spanning all areas.
- A light, airy dining room and a inviting pub garden, augmented by bookable huts for events.
- A dedicated car park, making it a convenient spot for day trips and special occasions.
The pub thrives on elevated seasonal pub food, delivering a consistently high-quality dining experience using the freshest ingredients. A signature feature is its in-house pizza shack, perfect for al-freesco sharing.
At its core, Chequers is a community-focused pub that hosts diverse celebrations and gatherings, fostering social connections in the heart of Walton on the Hill.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced pub operator with a deep passion for community engagement and a proven track record of driving sales through authenticity and relationable service. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand the pub’s reputation and strengthen its role as the centre of the local community.

Skills & Qualifications
