We are seeking an exceptional, commercially driven General Manager to manage a central London livery hall. This is not a “business as usual” role.
You will lead an operation within a stunning heritage setting, overseeing high-end corporate dining, formal banqueting, and events.
You will have full autonomy to shape the venue’s future, driving sales growth while maintaining the impeccable service standards.
This is mainly a Monday to Friday operation.
What You’ll Do
- Commercial Leadership: Take full P&L ownership. You aren’t just managing costs; you are architecting revenue growth through proactive sales strategies and savvy performance management.
- Operational Excellence: Elevate premium service delivery across all touchpoints, from daily corporate hospitality to formal banquets.
- Strategic Direction: Set the site’s vision, working closely with stakeholders to ensure the venue remains the first choice for high-profile City events.
- Team Empowerment: Mentor and develop a team, fostering a high-performance culture that “leads from the front”.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
