General Manager at Chef & Brewer – Winwick, Portsmouth

About the Role
At The Swan, one of our Flagship Chef & Brewer pubs in the vibrant area of Winwick, you’ll be responsible for delivering outstanding customer experiences and driving operational success while making the most of a dedicated 3-bedroom flat included with the position.

What You’ll Do as General Manager
- Drive growth by collaborating with business development leaders to increase pub sales.
- Lead by example—investing in your team so they embody our brand’s personality, ensuring memorable customer experiences.
- Build & empower a team with the skills to deliver delightful service.
- Champion brand consistency and reinforce health, safety, and compliance standards.
- Become a ** licence-holding** individual, having either a current licence or the ability to acquire one.

What You’ll Bring to the Role
✅ Uncompromising standards with meticulous attention to day-to-day pub operations. ✅ Exceptional people skills, with strong leadership and communication abilities. ✅ Business acumen, particularly with profit & loss management. ✅ Authentic warmth—caring deeply for people, premises, and the environment. ✅ Proven experience at GM level, ideally from hospitality, retail, or fast-paced industries, with a results-focused mindset. ✅ Drive & enthusiasm for continuous learning and championing success in unfamiliar challenges.
(Desirable to have prior GM experience—experience in high-performance industries is crucial, with the right attitude a must.)
