Founding General Manager – Everlast Gyms Livingston (Opening Autumn 2026)
Be the first to shape our brand-new Everlast Gyms club in Livingston, leading from the ground up in a rare opportunity to build a team, set benchmarks, and deliver an exceptional member experience.
About the Role
As General Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the club’s operations, sales, and service standards. Your mission? To drive profitability, elevate member engagement, and instil a high-standard, results-driven culture across every aspect.
You’ll recruit, train, and inspire a high-performing team—ensuring they consistently exceed KPIs, refine processes, and deliver stellar member experiences. This role blends operational leadership with commercial acumen, requiring resilience, agility, and an unwavering focus on detail-driven excellence.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, and develop talent, fostering a collaborative yet high-performing team.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to maximise performance and engagement.
- Align the team with national campaigns (#WorkoutWednesday, #WeCommunicate) and company objectives.
Revenue & Profitability
- Drive membership growth, secondary spend, and all revenue streams to optimise profitability.
- Own sales performance, ensuring targets are met while maintaining a member-first approach.
Member Experience
- Lead by example on the gym floor and reception, ensuring every visit feels personalised and exceptional.
- Maintain handles standards for cleanliness, presentation, and safety at all times.

Operations & Compliance
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly operational processes, upholding the highest standards.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety protocols, pool plant operations, and corporate policies.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability
- Stay resilient and solutions-focused in high-pressure situations.
- Quickly adjust to challenges while keeping the team aligned and motivated.
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 1 year of management experience in the fitness industry (gym, leisure centre, or similar).
- Strong leadership skills, with adaptability to adjust communication and management styles.
- Member-first mindset and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness and a proven track record of results-driven performance.
- Roots and flexibility—willing to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays as required.
- A passion for health, fitness, and wellbeing at its core.
Desirable (but not mandatory)
- Level 2 Fitness Qualification (while not essential, demonstrates relevant expertise).
