General Manager – Passenger Transport Operations (Scotland)
About the Opportunity
An established passenger transport operator in Scotland is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and strengthen its operational activities during an important phase of development and restructuring.
This is a senior leadership role, suited to a hands-on operator with strong experience in the coach, bus, or wider passenger transport sector. The role requires the ability to drive operational performance, improve processes, and support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transport operations across fleet, drivers, maintenance coordination, and scheduling
- Improve operational efficiency and implement cost-control measures
- Lead operational restructuring and process improvements where required
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and industry standards
- Support recruitment, performance management, and development of operational teams
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers, local authorities, and commercial partners
- Monitor financial and operational KPIs and report to senior leadership

Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within the passenger transport sector
- Strong understanding of UK transport compliance and operational management
- Experience managing large driver teams and fleet operations
- Commercially aware with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced operational environments
- CPC qualification desirable
- Experience in operational turnaround or business improvement environments would be advantageous
