General Manager

Job Title: General Manager

Location: Darlington

Salary: £50,000 per annum + Bonus (OTE £85K)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

We are supporting an established business seeking an ambitious and commercially driven General Manager to lead the day to day operations during an exciting period of investment, expansion and growth.

This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of business performance. You'll play a pivotal role in driving commercial success, improving customer experience and delivering strategic business initiatives with the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings through performance related rewards.

Key Responsibilities Of General Manager

  • Lead the day to day operations of the business, ensuring exceptional operational standards
  • Manage, motivate and develop the team to achieve business objectives
  • Drive revenue growth and sales performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and customers
  • Improve customer retention and identify opportunities to increase ancillary revenue
  • Monitor KPIs, budgets, targets and overall business performance
  • Manage cost control, debtor management and monthly reporting
  • Identify and implement new income streams, operational improvements and business efficiencies

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a commercial management or operational leadership role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a proven ability to drive business growth
  • Customer focused with outstanding communication skills
  • Financial understanding including budgeting and performance management
  • Experience managing KPIs and delivering operational improvements
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead change and manage multiple priorities

In return, you will receive a basic salary of £50,000 per annum plus performance bonus taking you up to £85,000 per annum and genuine opportunities for career progression.
