General Manager

Location: Salford, Central Manchester

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £35,000 + Performance Bonus of up to £5,000

The Role

As General Manager of The Big Manchester Bake, you will take full ownership of site performance, team leadership, and guest experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll set the tone on the floor while ensuring the venue runs smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes. You’ll balance operational excellence with atmosphere, creating a space where teams thrive and guests leave smiling.

The site includes a stunning on-site café/bar and hosts private bookings, corporate events, brand activations, and our famous 90-minute baking sessions.

You will:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing hospitality and baking team
  • Drive exceptional, high-energy guest experiences
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintain outstanding standards
  • Manage stock, suppliers, and overall site performance
  • Work closely with central Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue and elevate the experience

We’re looking for a confident, people-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced hospitality or experiential environments.

You will be:

  • Operationally strong and commercially aware
  • A visible and motivating leader
  • Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
  • Experienced in events, hospitality, or competitive socialising venues
  • Confident leading recruitment, performance management, and team development
  • Know how to keep energy high, standards consistent, and teams engaged - creating an environment where both people and performance rise together.
