Hours

  • 37 hours per week, Monday – Thursday (08:30 – 16:30), Friday 08:00 – 13:00 (37 hours per week)

Salary

  • Up to £14.00 per hour, (approx £26.9k per annum), dependant on experience

About The Role

Due to continued growth within our various teams we are seeking a General Operative. In this role you’ll provide essential, hands-on support across the shop floor, playing a key role in keeping operations running smoothly, safely and to a high standard.

This is a broad, practical role with real purpose and visibility. You’ll contribute to day-to-day operations while gaining exposure to CNC machining and workshop environments, with a clear pathway to develop your skills and progress into more technical CNC or Patternshop roles over time.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintaining clean, safe and well-organised workshop areas
  • Supporting with tools, equipment and materials across departments
  • Assisting with cleaning CNC machines and basic machine upkeep
  • Carrying out simple consumable changes such as sanding discs and supporting safe replacement of bandsaw blades following training
  • Emptying extraction systems and managing waste
  • Providing flexible, day-to-day operational support where needed

Who We’re Looking For

This role will suit someone at the start of their career who is keen to learn and develop in a manufacturing environment.

  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to carry out physical tasks
  • A genuine interest in engineering or manufacturing
  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and organisation
  • Positive attitude and team-focused mindset
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative
  • Awareness of health and safety in a workshop environment
  • Ability to travel to site.
