Role Profile


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general labouring duties to support depot operations.
  • Assist with the loading, unloading, and movement of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Operate workshop and site equipment safely, following relevant training and instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area, adhering to all Health, Safety & Environmental standards.
  • Support skilled operatives, supervisors, and engineers with day-to-day tasks as required.
  • Follow instructions accurately, both verbally and in written form.
  • Report any hazards, damage, or equipment faults promptly to supervisors.
  • Handle materials and equipment safely, including manual handling tasks associated with large or heavy items.
  • Work as part of a team to help meet project schedules and operational targets.
  • Assist other departments within the depot when required to maintain workflow and productivity.

Key Skills

  • Experience working in a construction, industrial, or depot environment (preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to work safely with tools, equipment, and machinery (training provided where necessary).
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions.
  • Good awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
  • Physically capable of manual handling tasks and manoeuvring materials or equipment.
  • Basic understanding of site operations and willingness to learn new skills and processes.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to keep work areas clean and orderly.

Qualifications

  • CSCS card (preferred but not essential).
  • Any relevant training certificates (manual handling, abrasive wheels, etc.) are beneficial.

Qualifications & Other Requirements

  • Willingness to undertake additional training as required for the role.
  • Forklift or lifting equipment experience would be an advantage.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused approach to work.
