General Operative

Location: Swindon, UK (Onsite)

Contract Type: Full-Time, 12-month contract

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Monday - Friday (Early shift: 07:00 - 15:00, Late shift: 15:00 - 22:45)

Pay Rate: GBP 13.86 per hour + 22% shift allowance

Overtime: Available, including weekends

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented General Operative to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining high production standards within a highly regulated, cleanroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience looking to grow their skills in a world-class facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully acquire and maintain a Bronze License Badge for Production area (Grade C/D) access.
  • Adhere strictly to correct gowning and cleaning procedures for aseptic and non-aseptic filling line areas.
  • Prepare cleaning materials and perform cleaning regimes according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Transfer and handle materials safely into classified production areas.
  • Maintain production stock levels and monitor expiration dates.
  • Clean and maintain equipment to SOPs, cGMP, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
  • Operate airlocks and, upon training, assist with loading part washers and autoclaves.
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and in-process weight checks.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and complete all documentation adhering strictly to Data Integrity principles.
  • Report any instances of non-conformance to area leaders or Quality Assurance representatives.

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

Education:

  • GCSE Math and English (Grade C or above), or evidence of basic numeracy and literacy to understand complex work instructions.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Food, Automotive, Make-Up, or Engineering). Previous manufacturing experience is highly desirable. Pharmaceutical experience is a strong bonus.

Knowledge:

  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) knowledge is required.

Soft Skills And Physical Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to stay focused and concentrate during repetitive tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written English proficiency.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical fitness (able to lift up to 15kg and stand for sustained periods with reasonable adjustments).
