Role Overview
We are seeking a General Practitioner (GP) to cover 4–6 sessions per week, based at either:
- Irchester Surgery
- Summerlee Medical Centre (Finedon)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive general practice care, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of:
- Acute and chronic conditions
- Patients across all age groups
- Conduct face-to-face consultations
- Review test results and make informed decisions
- Prescribe medication as needed
- Home visits may be required
- Clinical record-keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
- Participate in practice meetings, discussions, and decision-making
- Engage in preventive care and health promotion initiatives
- Ensure continuity of care for registered patients
- Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and training to maintain high standards of patient safety and quality of care

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Strong clinical competence in Medicine and Primary Care, with the ability to manage a broad range of conditions in a GP setting
- Experience or qualification in Family Medicine, with a focus on holistic, patient-centered care for individuals and families
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
- Commitment to continuous professional development, including keeping up-to-date with UK clinical guidelines and best practices
- Relevant medical qualification (e.g., MBChB, MBBS, MBChB-International) fully registered with a UK medical council (e.g., General Medical Council, GMC) or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in working respectfully with diverse patients and colleagues
- Strong time-management and organisation abilities to handle a busy caseload and ensure thorough clinical documentation
- A deep understanding of:
- Safeguarding principles
- Confidentiality protocols
- Ethical standards in healthcare
- Ability to maintain patient safety and quality of care at all times
