Job Summary
Part time hours: 2 to 4 sessions per week
Fixed-term contract: 12 months (with the possibility of extension or a permanent role)
We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic GP to join our friendly and supportive team for up to 4 sessions per week. Main duties of the job
Main Duties
- Face to face/telephone or digital consultations
- Visiting patients at home and in care homes
- Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions safely and in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
- Clinical administration
- Complying with QOF requirements

Job Description
Job responsibilities
The role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centred primary care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, chronic disease management, and referral of patients, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional and regulatory standards
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as that from NICE Ensure appropriate follow up of patients Record clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standards Participate in clinical audits, and learning event analyses and practice meetings Prescribe generically whenever appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance) Maintain professional registration

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified GP
- MRCGP
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)

Essential
- Full GMC registration
- Performers List registration noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation
- England Conforms to the National Performers List and is able to perform any such service as detailed within Regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013.

Clinical knowledge and skills
Essential
- Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
- Understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice
- Good MS Office and clinical system IT knowledge
- Understanding of the spectrum of clinical governance processes
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including recording of accurate clinical notes
- Ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to GP colleagues
- Experience of triage and the ability to effectively assess and diagnose
- Ability to listen whilst being honest and caring and be both sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations
- Understanding of the local pathology tests processes and the ability to processing the results with advising patients accordingly
- Ability to assess and manage acute deteriorations /exacerbations of long-term conditions
