Location: Community ADHD Services

Contract Type: Employed or Contractor

Salary
Employed: £10,750 per month
Contractor: £400 per session

Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

Our client is seeking a GP with an Extended Role (GPwER) specialising in ADHD and Mental Health to join its expanding community neurodevelopmental service.

Working within a consultant-led multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will provide expert support for the assessment, monitoring, and following up of adults with ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions within a community-based setting.

This is an ideal opportunity for a GP with an interest in mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders, offering the chance to specialise in a growing service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct ADHD assessments, follow-up reviews, and medication monitoring
  • Support patient management, including titration, prescribing, and treatment planning
  • Manage patient queries and provide clinical advice on ADHD medication and side effects
  • Review and interpret investigation results, including ECGs and blood tests
  • Collaborate with consultants, nurse specialists, GPs, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) colleagues
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and service development
  • Ensure accurate documentation in SystmOne and associated clinical systems
  • Lead patient education and support around ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • MRCGP certification
  • Experience in general psychiatry or mental health
  • Interest in ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexible, independent working style suitable for community service environments

Desirable

  • Previous ADHD or neurodevelopmental service experience
  • Experience delivering education, training, or workplace guidance
  • Experience within community mental health services
  • Familiarity with SystmOne
