Role Description

The General Sales Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the sales operations of the dealership in a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Managing the sales team
  • Setting and monitoring sales targets
  • Coaching and developing team members
  • Ensuring a high-quality customer experience throughout the sales process

  • Forecasting and reporting on sales performance
  • Optimizing stock and vehicle presentation
  • Collaborating with other departments to deliver seamless service
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Overseeing negotiation and deal closure
  • Ensuring compliance with Bentley standards and dealership policies

This position plays a key role in driving revenue growth, upholding brand values, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in all customer interactions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in automotive sales management, preferably within a premium or luxury brand environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including coaching, performance monitoring, and developing sales professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating and executing sales strategies, setting targets, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Excellent customer relationship management and negotiation skills, with a focus on delivering a premium client experience.
  • Solid commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail aligned with a luxury automotive brand.
  • Comfort with dealership management and CRM systems, and basic proficiency with standard office software.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in Birmingham and adapt to a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Relevant education or training in business, sales, or a related field; prior experience in a dealership management role is highly beneficial.
