General Sales Manager – Reading

£40,000 – £45,000 Basic Salary | Up to £65,000 OTE | Full-Time | Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Sales Manager to join a successful automotive dealership in Reading. This role is ideal for a driven and inspirational leader with a proven track record of delivering outstanding sales performance, developing high-performing teams, and driving profitability.
The Role
As General Sales Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of the Sales Department, leading both new and used vehicle sales teams to achieve and exceed targets. You'll be responsible for maximising performance, maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction, and ensuring the dealership consistently delivers strong commercial results.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Management and Sales Executive teams.
- Drive new and used vehicle sales performance and profitability.
- Monitor KPIs, forecasts, and departmental performance.
- Ensure FCA compliance and dealership processes are adhered to.
- Maximise finance, insurance, and value-added product performance.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top-performing sales professionals.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales journey.
- Work closely with senior management to implement business strategies and achieve dealership objectives.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a General Sales Manager or an experienced Sales Manager ready to step up within the automotive industry.
- A proven track record of delivering strong sales and profitability results.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
