About the Role
As a Generator Service Engineer, your mission is to ensure our critical equipment—including generators, diesel tanks, and related systems—operates at the highest level. Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll:
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and servicing
- Manage breakdowns and repairs with precision
- Oversee installation and commissioning tasks
- Maintain customer service, safety, and quality standards
This role includes on-call responsibilities with additional compensation for call-outs. It’s an exciting opportunity to grow expertise in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) standards across all operations
- Deliver optimal productivity while managing workloads, including:
- Breakdown repairs
- Scheduled services
- Pre-delivery inspections (PDIs)
- Damage assessments
- Accurate timekeeping
- Provide exceptional customer service, fostering strong client relationships
- Proactively report unsafe practices to ensure a secure workspace
- Strategically schedule servicing to keep overdue services under 6% of the fleet
- Maintain professional development via the PDP Skills Matrix
- Offer flexible depot and operational support as needed
- Keep the company vehicle maintained with necessary tools and safety gear
- Contribute to team collaboration and depot excellence

What You'll Bring
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven mechanical or electrical experience directly applicable to generator equipment
- Reliable maintenance routines (field service or depot-based)
- Expertise in fault diagnosis, repair, and testing of specified systems
- Mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with generator engines
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- C&G, NVQ, or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline
- Broad technical skills (mechanical + electrical)
- Hands-on experience in:
- Service, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel-driven generators
