Geoscientist Apprentice – Geo-Environmental Team
Location: Bristol or Cardiff
Tetra Tech is hiring an enthusiastic Apprentice to join our Geo-environmental Team, ideal for someone passionate about geology, contaminated land, and a mix of office-based and site work, including travel.
About the Role
We’ll sponsor your part-time Geoscience Apprenticeship degree (over 5 years) at Keele University, covering course fees. The remaining work will include supporting geotechnical and environmental projects such as:
- Ground investigations
- Environmental monitoring
- Audits
- Client-facing reporting
Your Responsibilities
Your role will involve a mix of problem-solving, fieldwork, and analysis, including: ● Conducting site-based environmental monitoring (e.g., water/soil sampling) ● Assisting with ground investigation logging for soils and rocks ● Preparing desk studies, assessments (e.g., preliminary risk appraisals) ● Managing environmental data (learning industry formats and software) ● Assisting in geological/waste risk appraisals ● Preparing technical reports with minimal supervision

You’ll work independently or as part of a team, integrating theory with hands-on experience in both field and office environments.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll need either: ✅ A Levels: BBB required ✅ BTEC: DDM ✅ International Baccalaureate: 29 points Note: Relevant life/work experience may be considered instead of qualifications.
For candidates aged 16-18: Must hold GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or equivalent).
No prior employment required—eagerness to learn and progress is key!
