Job Opportunity: Contaminated Land / Geo-environmental Consultant
Location: North/North East of England (Leeds or Newcastle office, UK countrywide site visits)

Responsibilities
Your typical duties include:

Field and site work:
- Supervising and managing site investigations
- Conducting environmental sampling, soil logging, and ground gas monitoring

Technical analysis:
- Data collation, review, and interpretation
- Supporting site investigation design and reporting

Reporting and compliance:
- Authoring desk studies, site investigation reports, remediation designs, and verification reports
- Ensuring projects align with regulatory frameworks, HSE, and client expectations

- Project collaboration:
- Engaging with clients, subcontractors, site teams, and senior stakeholders
- Maintaining best practices in health, safety, and environmental standards
Key standards you’ll work with: ✔ Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations ✔ Phase 1 and Phase 2 desk studies ✔ Risk-based assessment of contaminated land in the UK
Your Team
Your core team specialises in land contamination management across industries including:

- Energy, manufacturing, and nuclear sectors

Experience & Skills
Essential
- On-site experience in:
- Site investigation techniques
- Soil logging, sampling, and ground gas monitoring
- Phase 1 desk studies for contaminated land
- Knowledge of:
- Contaminated land regulations and risk assessment frameworks
- CDM construction safety protocols
- Strong reporting skills with a focus on clarity and accuracy
Desirable
- Understanding of GIS software for data handling
- Knowledge of health risk modelling and environmental impact assessments

Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in a related field, e.g.:
- Chemistry, Geography, Environmental Science, Geology, Civil Engineering
- Reasonable candidate criteria can be discussed; alternative pathways considered.
