About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and capable Geo-Environmental Consultant to support the delivery of a wide range of geo-environmental and ground investigation projects. The role involves a balance of site-based and office-based work, including:
- Planning and supervising ground investigations
- Undertaking monitoring, sampling, and data management
- Preparing reports and technical documentation
- Ensuring project compliance with budget, programme, and quality requirements
You will work closely with senior colleagues, subcontractors, clients, and project teams while maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise ground investigations across sites of varying complexity
- Prepare health and safety documentation, including risk assessments and method statements
- Undertake site works independently, including:
- Logging, sampling, and monitoring
- Subcontractor supervision
- Conduct groundwater and ground gas monitoring
- Produce site records, exploratory hole logs, drawings, and data management
- Prepare:
- Factual reports
- Phase 1 Geo-Environmental Desk Studies
- Phase 2 Geo-Environmental Interpretative Reports
- Assist with remediation method statements and verification documentation
- Manage project budgets, timescales, and quality standards
- Collaborate with clients, project teams, contractors, and internal staff
- Raise purchase orders and track budgets
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and technical standards
- Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders
- Engage in personal professional development
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in:
- Environmental Science
- Geology / Engineering Geology
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Geo-Environmental Engineering
- Earth science, engineering, or environmental disciplines
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
- Geo-environmental consultancy
- Ground investigation
- Contaminated land, geotechnical, or environmental assessment
- Experience supervising ground investigation works
- Experience preparing factual and interpretative reports
- Familiarity with health and safety requirements
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to organise projects and maintain records
- Full UK driving licence
