Roles & Responsibilities
You will guide young people through core subjects with a specialized focus on Geography up to A-Level. You will:
- Plan and teach physical, human, and environmental geography topics.
- Develop learning resources, maps, and case studies adapted to individual student paces.
- Teach geographical skills, including data analysis, map reading, and graphical interpretation.
- Provide assignment feedback, answer inquiries, and lead exam preparation.
- Assist students requiring academic, SEN, or SEMH support with patience and encouragement.
What you’ll need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Solid knowledge of physical and human Geography, including curriculum requirements up to A-Level.
- A relevant degree or qualification in Geography or a related environmental field.
- Ability to explain complex global systems and environmental theories clearly to learners aged 5-19.
- Right to work in the UK.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Independence, strong time management, and teaching/tutoring experience (SEN/SEMH experience is a plus).
