At Jacobs, we’re looking for an experienced Geospatial Developer to join our growing UK Digital & Data team, helping deliver innovative, user-focused mapping solutions across environmental and infrastructure programmes. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of developers, data specialists, and geospatial experts, driving new digital capabilities and delivering engaging, high-performance applications for clients and internal teams alike.

- You’ll develop intuitive user interfaces and interactive geospatial tools, working with a variety of technologies and data sources to solve complex challenges.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to projects across sectors such as infrastructure and environment, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and user-centric.
Alongside delivery, you’ll help shape best practice within the team - mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and staying at the forefront of emerging geospatial technologies. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage with clients, translating technical solutions into meaningful outcomes.
Here's what you'll need
We’re looking for an experienced developer with a passion for geospatial technology and collaborative problem-solving
- Strong experience in front-end development using JavaScript/TypeScript and React
- Proven expertise with web mapping technologies such as Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers, or Esri APIs
- Experience building interactive, user-focused web applications and working with modern frameworks
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work across multidisciplinary teams

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
