We are a well-established specialist ground engineering and piling contractor delivering a wide range of foundation solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth and the recent departure of a senior team member, we are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our design team based in Doncaster.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career within a specialist contractor environment, working on a variety of foundation and retaining structure projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior/Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and technical delivery of geotechnical and foundation engineering solutions. The role will involve producing safe, cost-effective and practical designs for piling and ground engineering projects across the UK.
You will work closely with estimating, operations and commercial teams to ensure designs are delivered efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of piled foundation solutions including:
- CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) piles
- Driven piles
- Bottom-driven piles
- Top-driven piles
- Design of pile caps and ground beams
- Design and assessment of retaining wall structures
- Interpretation of ground investigation reports and geotechnical data
- Production of detailed calculations, design reports and technical documentation
- Liaison with clients, consultants and internal project teams
- Providing technical support throughout project delivery
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Eurocodes, British Standards and industry guidance

Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience within geotechnical, structural or foundation engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Positive, proactive and collaborative attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Desirable
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience within the piling, foundations or ground engineering sector
- Knowledge of CFA and driven piling design
- Experience designing retaining structures and ground beams
- Chartered status or working towards chartership

Package
- Salary: £45,000 - £58,000 depending on experience
- Annual discretionary bonus
- Company pension scheme
- Potential car allowance/company vehicle (subject to experience and package agreement)
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- 7 days reserved for Christmas shutdown
- 15 days to be taken throughout the year
