Geotechnical Engineer
Geotechnical Engineer – Permanent Role
Location: Leeds Salary: GBP£32,000 to GBP£40,000 per annum
A growing consultancy team in Leeds is seeking an ambitious Geotechnical Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to thrive within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. Collaborate across engineering, environmental, and geotechnical disciplines while supporting clients through every stage—from early assessment to design and construction.
About the Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, your work will span both fieldwork and office-based activities, including:
- Planning and supervising ground investigations
- Logging soil and rock adhering to industry standards
- Managing site data, samples, and laboratory testing
- Contributing to interpretative reporting and risk assessments
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and cross-disciplinary teams

Your role will ensure high-quality solutions for challenging ground conditions, bridging technical rigour with practical implementation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee geotechnical site investigations
- Execute soil/rock logging with professional precision
- Process and interpret field/lab data for client delivery
- Draft detailed project reports and assessments
- Foster collaboration with stakeholders on complex projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or MSc degree in geology, engineering geology, or a relevant discipline
- 2–5 years of industry experience in geotechnical or related fields
- Proficiency in site investigation techniques (e.g., BRE, Eurocode standards)
- Experience with technical reporting
- Full UK driving licence
