Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Igne is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding Ground Investigation Division in Chester-le-Street.
About the Role
You'll manage large, complex ground investigation projects and deliver high-caliber interpretative reports for a diverse client base.
Responsibilities
- Managing ground investigation projects from planning through to completion
- Collecting, validating, and logging subsurface data, including:
- Borehole logs
- Sampling records
- Geophysical outputs
- Performing geological interpretation to develop factual logs and ground models
- Preparing technical reports:
- Factual geotechnical logs
- Laboratory summaries
- Interpretative narratives
- Supporting tender preparation with:
- Scope input
- Cost estimates
- Technical write-ups
- Coordinating project schedules and resources alongside the Geotechnical Coordinator

Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Experience in contract management of ground investigation projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Full UK driving licence (travel required)
