Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Igne is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding Ground Investigation Division in Chester-le-Street.

About the Role

You'll manage large, complex ground investigation projects and deliver high-caliber interpretative reports for a diverse client base.

Responsibilities

  • Managing ground investigation projects from planning through to completion
  • Collecting, validating, and logging subsurface data, including:
    • Borehole logs
    • Sampling records
    • Geophysical outputs
  • Performing geological interpretation to develop factual logs and ground models
  • Preparing technical reports:
    • Factual geotechnical logs
    • Laboratory summaries
    • Interpretative narratives
  • Supporting tender preparation with:
    • Scope input
    • Cost estimates
    • Technical write-ups
  • Coordinating project schedules and resources alongside the Geotechnical Coordinator

Requirements

  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience in contract management of ground investigation projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Full UK driving licence (travel required)
