An excellent opportunity has become available for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established ground engineering consultancy based in Manchester. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the North West, carrying out and managing ground investigations from planning through to reporting.
The role will involve supervising site investigations, logging soil and rock to BS5930, overseeing drilling and trial pitting, scheduling laboratory testing, and producing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports. You will also be involved in foundation recommendations, earthworks assessments, and geotechnical design, working closely with senior engineers and clients throughout project delivery.

Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Around 2-5 years of experience within a UK geotechnical consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of ground investigation techniques and logging to BS5930.
- Experience producing factual and ideally interpretative geotechnical reports.
- Familiarity with software such as OpenGround, HoleBASE, Oasys, or similar would be beneficial.
- Full UK driving license.
