Chartered Geotechnical Engineer – Renewables Infrastructure Location: Hybrid / Bristol Competitive Salary & Benefits Package

We’re working with a growing and forward-thinking engineering team operating within the renewable energy sector. Backed by an established infrastructure business, this newly formed division is focused on delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions across a diverse solar project portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity to join at an early stage, helping to shape technical standards, influence project delivery, and contribute to the long-term success of a business committed to sustainability and innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing As the technical lead for geotechnical engineering, you’ll play a key role in managing ground-related risks and delivering practical, buildable solutions across projects from early feasibility through to construction.

Your responsibilities will include: Leading ground investigation strategies, procurement, and interpretation Producing and reviewing geotechnical designs, reports, and specifications (Eurocode 7, BS standards) Managing geotechnical risk across the full project lifecycle Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical oversight Acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams Supporting bids, proposals, and commercial discussions Promoting safe, sustainable, and innovative engineering practices Embedding ESG principles into project delivery and decision-making

What We’re Looking For Chartered status (CGeol or CEng) preferred Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Geology is highly desirable Strong experience in ground investigation, lab testing, and geotechnical analysis tools A track record of delivering projects across multiple sectors Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts Willingness to travel to sites and occasional office locations Full UK driving licence due to site travel

Nice to Have Experience in solar PV, structural steel, or modular construction Exposure to innovation programmes, product development, or ESG frameworks
