Geo-Environmental Engineer | Leeds

I'm currently recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a well-established ground investigation and geo-environmental consultancy in Leeds.

This is a genuinely good time to join. My client is an established, nationally expanding business working across a broad mix of development, health, education, defence, and infrastructure clients.

You'd be joining a team that handles the full ground investigation lifecycle, and there's real scope here for an ambitious engineer to develop, with tailored training and a clear path to grow.

It's a role with variety built in. Roughly half your time is on site across the UK, the rest split between home and the Manchester office on a flexible hybrid pattern, so you get the site exposure without living out of a suitcase.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why it's worth a look:

My client is a global consultancy with thousands of people across the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, but the team you'd join keeps a personal feel and backs its people to develop. Tickets like CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, CAT and Genny, water hygiene, and first aid are all welcome, and anything you're missing they'll train.
