Location: Remote (UK-based client headquartered in Glasgow) Contract: Project-Based / Fixed-Term (3 months +) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Our client is seeking an experienced German Payroll Specialist to join a supportive and collaborative team on a payroll project. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong German language skills to play a key role in ensuring payroll queries and processes are managed accurately and efficiently.
Important Experience of working within German Payroll (ideally with fluency in German language) required.
The Role
Working remotely as part of an established payroll team, you will support a dedicated payroll project, handling employee payroll queries and assisting with payroll administration and processing activities relating to the German workforce.

- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders in German and English.
- Support the processing and administration of German payroll activities.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and exceptions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
- Assist with payroll calculations, validations, and reconciliations.
- Support statutory payroll processes and deductions.
- Liaise with internal departments and external payroll providers where required.
- Ensure payroll activities are completed in line with deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Assist with payroll reporting and data analysis.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives throughout the project.
About You
- Fluent German speaker, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience working within a payroll environment is essential.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and payroll administration.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Confident using payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
