Salary

£55,000–£65,000 DOE

Working Pattern

UK-based, predominantly on-site in Lewes; regular overseas travel and occasional night work

TPA Recruit is supporting an established international manufacturer of passenger information systems in the appointment of a German-Speaking Technical Engineer.

This UK-based role will provide technical support to the company’s German subsidiary, customers, and integration partners. It combines customer-facing technical support, hardware and software troubleshooting, system integration, project delivery, installation, training, and regular travel to Germany.

The successful German-Speaking Technical Engineer will work closely with technical, sales, development, and production teams in the UK and Germany. You will manage several projects at once, resolve technical issues, support vehicle-based systems, and help customers implement reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support in fluent German and English by telephone, email, and onsite visits.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system integration issues affecting passenger information equipment.
  • Support projects from initial consultation and protocol definition through hardware selection, software implementation, vehicle integration, and installation.
  • Carry out site evaluations, installations, retrofits, and technical investigations at customer and OEM locations in Germany.
  • Create databases and media content for onboard equipment and coordinate integration with third-party vehicle systems.
  • Deliver technical training to customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Produce accurate technical documentation and maintain clear records for future support.
  • Work collaboratively with the UK Technical Manager, German Sales Manager, and cross-functional colleagues.
  • Travel regularly to the German office in Wuppertal and customer sites, with occasional wider international travel and night work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
