The Service & Team

There are three Get2gether teams across Cornwall that have the responsibility to coordinate and deliver get2gether (contact) services for children, young people and their families in collaboration with key partners.

Get2gether service runs from our designated get2gether buildings, but get2gethers can also happen in other settings in the community, for example, Family Hubs. The teams work on an area basis and therefore travel is essential across the geographical area.

Get2gether workers work closely with social work colleagues and other professionals to deliver a key service to support an agreed goal.

The Role

The role of the Get2gether worker is an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of children from birth to 16 years, so good knowledge of child development is required. You will be required to support the child to have a safe, positive get2gether with their parents and significant others in a safe secure setting or out in the community depending on the family’s needs.

Position available: 37 Hours permanent position in the West

Get2gether arrangements support children to maintain relationships with key family members when they cannot live at home.

As a Get2gether worker, you alongside your colleagues, will support and facilitate a range of get2gethers/contacts for children, young people and their families. You will complete detailed observations that will feed into social work reports and interventions.

You will work with a range of professionals towards a shared and common goal under the support and direction of the area Get2gether Co-Ordinator.

Your role will be to observe, offer support and guidance around parenting and modelling play. Your observations will feed into parenting assessments that can be used in the court arena.

This role will require you to be flexible with your hours and to be able to drive to various locations and to transport some children to and from the get2gether.

This role will require an enhanced Disclosure & Barred List check.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern

Workers will be expected to be flexible in the working day and hours will vary depending on requests for get2gethers. You will be expected to work on a rota for Saturdays doing one in three.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
