Gifts in Wills and Supporter Care Assistant

National Charity – Permanent, Full-Time

Harris Hill are partnering with a fantastic national charity in their search for a Supporting advocate in legacy fundraising.

An exciting opportunity to build on your experience in supporter care while expanding your fundraising expertise through engagement with Gifts in Wills—a critical income stream for charities. This role combines administration, donor management, and strategy.


About the Role

As Gifts in Wills and Supporter Care Assistant, you will provide administrative, operational, and supporter-facing support across multiple fundraising activities. You’ll ensure seamless donor journeys, managevexxtremelyaccurate financial processing, and collaborate across teams to enhance legacy fundraising and individual giving.

This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds: meaningful work rooted in donor relationships, complemented by office-based collaboration in London (minimum 2 days per week).


Key Responsibilities

Donor & Supporter Care

  • Manage inbound enquiries via phone, email, and in-person at events to provide clear, compassionate, and tailored support.
  • Research and resolve policy-focused queries, with a high-level understanding of legacy rules, tax implications, and charity expectations.
  • Foster positive donor relationships—thank-you management, follow-ups, and cultivating loyalty to the cause.

Administrative & Operational

  • Gilts in Wills processing: Draft and review legacy forms, Maintain accurate donor records and organisethe charity’s relevant systems efficiently.
  • Run data analysis and insights, producing reports for decision-making and strategizing future efforts.
  • Process and reconcile Gift Aid, donations, and invoices; manage financial flows to compliance standards.
  • Construct and review all fundraising communications—quarterly newsletters, leaflets, and direct marketing—with strict attention to branding, corrections, and content fidelity.

Collaborative Support

  • Collaborate with regional team members on promotion and event attendance, championing Gifts in Wills fundraising as an integral activity.
  • Cross-team support: Cover Specialist Legacy, Individual Giving, or resources as needed, ensuring the continuity and efficiency of shared objectives.
  • Enhance existing training tools, information packs, and journeys to better support supporters and stewards.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in supporter care or fundraising within a charitable sector environment. Experience with Gifts in Wills or legacy work would be beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional communication skills—clear, congruent, and empathetic when speaking with donors at any level, from complex databases scenarios to creative email drafting.
  • Attention to detail: Consistently high standards, adept at managing parallel responsibilities (e.g., donor management alongside financial reconciliations).
  • Self-motivated, organised, and flexible: Thrive in operational-heavy roles with tight timelines.
  • Confidence navigating databases (CRM tools like Donorbox, RAS preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Gift Aid software/tools.
  • Experience in fundraising events and procurement.

Salary & Conditions

  • Per annum: £32,929
  • Hours: Permanent, 35/hour – a hybrid model, with at least 2 days per week based out of our London office.
