About The Role
GIME Site Manager – Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)
Location: @one Alliance Sites across the Anglian Water Region
Balfour Beatty plays a key role as part of the {(6) Anglian Water's @one Alliance: Overview | LinkedIn} @Anglian Water’s one Alliance. The Alliance is a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and eight industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. And together, we deliver around 40% of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
As we progress through AMP8 – our most ambitious asset management period to date – we’re delivering nature-based and sustainable infrastructure, from wetlands to urban drainage schemes, setting new benchmarks for environmental performance.
As our new GIME Site Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, leading supervisors, delivery teams and subcontract partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You'll play a key role in driving site performance, promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring teams work collaboratively to solve challenges and maintain momentum throughout delivery.
What you'll be doing
Key responsibilities
- Lead by example and champion a strong Health & Safety culture across all activities on site.
- Manage site-based supervisors, delivery teams and supply chain partners to achieve programme milestones safely and efficiently.
- Drive continuous improvement by reducing physical and non-physical waste and promoting sustainable construction practices.
- Identify and escalate operational risks and challenges, working collaboratively with Project Delivery Managers to resolve issues.
- Support, coach and develop site teams to maximise performance and minimise conflict.
- Ensure construction activities are delivered in line with project requirements, specifications and @one Alliance standards.
- Maintain all site documentation, including Health & Safety records, site changes, O&M information and contractual documentation.
- Manage procurement requirements for plant, materials and specialist subcontractors.
- Work closely with project teams and planners to monitor performance and drive successful project delivery.
- Participate in collaborative planning sessions and project rehearsals to improve buildability and delivery outcomes.
- Promote a right-first-time approach, proactively identifying, recording and rectifying defects.

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you'll bring extensive site management experience within the water, utilities, construction, mechanical or electrical sectors, alongside a passion for leading teams and delivering projects safely.
Essential
We are looking for:
- Site Safety Management certification (or completion of a 5-day Site Safety Management course).
- Managerial CSCS Card.
- Strong experience managing site-based delivery teams and subcontractors.
- Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on budget and to programme.
- SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) qualification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Fire Marshal certification.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to maximise value and control costs.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable
- Experience within Water Recycling projects
- Understanding of collaborative planning and programme management processes.
