Gin School Host

Location: St Ives, Cornwall.
Position: Permanent, Zero-Hours Contract

Do you have a passion for hospitality and love creating unforgettable experiences? We're looking for a fun, energetic, and confident Gin School Host to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our Customer Experience team, delivering unforgettable experiences for Tarquin's Gin fans through our Gin School experiences and tasting events.

About the Role:

As a Gin School Host, you'll welcome guests and lead our immersive gin experiences from start to finish. You'll teach guests how to make their own gin, guide them through botanicals and the distillation process, and ensure everyone has a fantastic time. You'll also host our popular Tasting Hour, where guests sample our premium spirits while learning about the fascinating history of gin and the story behind our distillery.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Hosting Gin School experiences and tasting events.
  • Leading guests through the gin-making process in a fun and interactive way.
  • Creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for all visitors.
  • Supporting retail sales of spirits and merchandise alongside the on-site retail team.
  • Working closely with the Customer Experience team to achieve visitor and sales targets.
  • Maintaining equipment, managing stock levels, and ensuring consumables such as botanicals are replenished.
  • Carrying out daily cleaning and ensuring high standards throughout the visitor spaces.
  • Providing a safe, enjoyable environment for both guests and colleagues.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has experience in hospitality (bar experience is preferred).
  • Is confident and enjoys speaking in front of groups.
  • Has a fun, friendly, and energetic personality.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Is passionate about creating memorable experiences for guests.
  • Works well as part of a team and can think on their feet.
  • Is available to work weekends and occasional evenings.

No previous gin-making experience is required, as full training will be provided. If you have a passion for hospitality, enjoy meeting new people, and love entertaining guests, we'd love to hear from you!
